Dockerhub appears to give some benefits to an open source accounts; it was under Alex's impression these were rate limits (pulling/pushing separate from the user rate limit), but no info was initially found. Open discussion with LF/Docker to address. Recommendation is to use another registry if users have issues.
Question around next version: upstream uses semantic-like versioning, wherein major version is overall API compatibility; this has been unchanged for a while so we'll likely also stick with v2.x.x for a while for the core. In the future, moving plugins out of the core (as external, with a registry similar to OpenTofu) will give users more information about plugin upgrades and their API compatibility changes.
General interest from GitLab in maintaining Ruby OpenAPI bindings; Go was popular upstream and thus likely to be accepted by this community; IOTech/EdgeX expressed sentiments around a C API potentially.
k8s ecosystem tooling is not yet GA, but there's general agreement that it'd be good to start understanding requirements for inclusion in upstream's https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/secrets-store-csi-driver.
